Chocolate Brownies Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (optional, for extra chocolatey goodness)
1/2 cup (60g) chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
Make the Batter:
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Add Mix-Ins (Optional):
Fold in the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate and chopped nuts if using.
Bake the Brownies:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. For fudgier brownies, slightly underbake them.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares. Serve them on their own or with a scoop of ice cream for an extra treat.
