Dinner Rolls Recipe

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 package active dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup whole milk, room temperature
1 large egg
1 tsp vegetable oil
1 egg yolk, beaten (for glaze)

Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
In a small saucepan, heat the butter and milk over low heat until the butter is melted. Remove from heat and let it cool until it reaches room temperature.
Add the cooled milk mixture and egg to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
Gradually add the remaining flour, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together and is no longer sticky.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
Once the dough has risen, divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a roll. Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the rolls with beaten egg yolk and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove the rolls from the oven and brush them with melted butter, if desired. Serve warm.

Enjoy your dinner rolls!
